Building a Better Plan for Adult Dog with Chronic Itching
Thank you, Christine for helping Nikki get back to her usual happy doggy self! When I contacted you because Nikki was scratching, bitting at herself and whining in her sleep because she was so uncomfortable, I had already tried changing her food and many other methods to see if I could figure out why she was so uncomfortable. I had researched her symptoms through the internet and watched many videos and none of them helped me help Nikki feel better. Christine asked great questions about what food, treats and medications that Nikki was getting. We reviewed the food and treat ingredients together, looking for a common thread and came up with a plan to help her feel better. With some tweaking of her diet and some suggestions on better treats, Nikki is no longer scratching and biting at herself and is back to being a happy dog! Nikki says, Thank You!

My Approach
Many pet parents come to me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and stuck.
They've tried different foods, supplements, medications, and recommendations. They've spent countless hours researching, asking questions, and searching for answers. Yet they're still left wondering why the issue isn't fully resolving, why it keeps returning, or whether they're simply being told it's something they'll have to live with.
I believe pet parents deserve more than another recommendation. They deserve the time, attention, and support needed to better understand what's happening and why.
That's why my approach is built on five core principles:
Time & Depth – Taking the time to understand your pet's complete story, not just today's symptoms.
Focus & Attention – Providing thoughtful, personalized guidance rather than one-size-fits-all recommendations.
A Big-Picture Lens – Looking at how nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and body systems work together instead of viewing each symptom in isolation.
Systems Over Symptoms – Seeking to understand what may be contributing to recurring health challenges rather than simply managing their outward signs.
A Practical Path Forward – Helping you move from uncertainty to clear, realistic actions you can confidently take.
These principles shape every recommendation I make.
Every pet is different, but every recommendation begins with the same guiding question:
"What will best support this pet's long-term health and resilience?"
Rather than chasing symptoms or looking for quick fixes, my goal is to help create the conditions that allow the body to function more effectively over time by focusing on three fundamental objectives.
Build Resilience
Support the body's natural ability to adapt, recover, and maintain healthy function by strengthening the nutritional foundations that contribute to long-term wellness.
Restore Regulation
Help the body's interconnected systems (including the gut, immune system, skin, metabolism, and other key body systems) communicate and function more effectively so they can respond appropriately instead of remaining stuck in patterns of imbalance.
Reduce the Overall Burden
Identify opportunities to reduce the cumulative stressors that may be contributing to chronic symptoms, allowing the body to devote more energy to healing and recovery.
To support these goals, my recommendations typically focus on three complementary areas of care:
Inside-Out Care
Nutrition is the foundation. Together, we'll look at food quality, nutrient balance, digestive function, gut health, and other internal factors that influence your pet's overall health and resilience.
Outside-In Care
When appropriate, we'll also consider ways to support your pet's comfort from the outside in, including skin care, environmental factors, and other practical strategies that complement the work happening internally.
Targeted Support When Needed
Some pets benefit from additional support along the way. Depending on your pet's individual needs, that may include thoughtfully selected supplements, functional foods, or other targeted recommendations designed to address specific challenges while continuing to support long-term healing.
Through this nutrition-first approach, my goal isn't simply to help your pet feel better today.
It's to help you better understand what's happening, create a practical plan, and build a stronger foundation for lasting health, and moving from confusion to clarity, clarity to action, and action to confidence.
